PRICING & BOOKING
Q: What does your basic package include?
The base package is The Cinematic Film which is a 3-5 minute highlight film, and it’s the most popular type of film I make for couples. I also include a one minute teaser clip delivered within a week after your wedding. I’m there from getting ready to cutting a rug, so a full day depending on what that day includes. A second shooter may be present if needed, but this would be discussed prior to booking. I also offer a documentary edit as well as full ceremony and speeches. Wedding coverages starts at $3750.00
Q: How do we book you?
Contact me and I’ll let you know if I’m available, and if so, plan to arrange a meeting to hear more about you and your wedding day. Dependant on your availability and location, we can meet in person, or more likely over the phone or FaceTime. After we've met, discussed details and decided to book, a 50% deposit/retainer is required to book your date, with your remaining payment due a 10 days before your wedding. Payments can be made via e-transfer or any major credit card.
Q: Will you travel?
I love to travel and adventure! No matter where you say I do, I'm down to make it there. I will provide complementary travel in the following locations: Golden, Revelstoke, Emerald Lake, Lake Louise, Banff, Canmore, Invermere.
Travel rates outside of these areas will be added to the quote after an initial inquiry.
Q: Can you reserve our date?
I cannot guarantee your wedding date until the retainer has been paid and the contract is signed. After meeting with me, I typically give a 1 week hold on the date and then it is released if I don’t hear back.
Q: If we cancel our wedding, can we be refunded?
I will honour a refund for weddings cancelled within 90 days prior to the set date, after that the deposit will not be refundable.
Q: How can we pay?
You can pay with E-transfer or check. Any major credit card is also accepted, but there will be a 3% processing fee applied.
STYLE & CREATIVITY
Q: What is your style?
You won’t find me hiding behind a bush, but I tend to be a ninja about not being noticed throughout the day. I’m all about the candid moments and will step in only when I think it’s going to be make something awesome happen. I use audio both speaking and ambient sounds as well as music to remind you of the days sounds. With that I weave in the footage with moments you probably don’t even realize happened, while capturing the big scenes that you have been planning for so long. My editing style is cinematic, telling the story but creating a film that is unique to you.
Q: Can we choose our own music?
I license my music from a variety of online sources and choosing music is one of my specialties. Because of strict music licensing laws, I will not be able to provide any song to my couple, but I will certainly take into account their musical preferences.
Q: Do you offer same-day-edits?
In short no. I take a lot of time to craft my films and find I best serve my couples providing my standard film package.
Q: Do you send raw footage?
No. The reason being is that I’m honoured to take the clips of the day and make the story come alive with them. Providing clips or footage without the love I put into the edits is not a reflection of my work. If you are interested in that because you wanted to see your ceremony and speeches, I can absolutely provide that service to you!
Q: My Fiancee(è) doesn't see the need for professional video. Can you help convince him/her?
I sure think these films are worth it! But I understand it’s not an obvious priority for some. I can say that you will be much happier with a professional filmmaker rather than Uncle Larry and his Ipad. Wedding films have come a long way from when it meant the videographer had a giant clunky camera and tripod. See below for what equipment I work with, it’s minimal but effective.
I always think that a wedding or elopement film is a whole other way to remember your day, the people who came together for it, and the place it happened. It’s not just images, it’s moving sounds and footage that is a whole new sensory experience that will bring you back. I’m incredibly sentimental at heart, so having audio and clips of my parents, grandparents and friends is something I cherish.
Photos are incredible keepsakes, but filming will allow you to relive your wedding in a way photos never could. Click here for a fantastic article from The Knot which breaks this down further.
Q: What kind of equipment do you use?
I use Sony Cameras, they are small and lightweight and I love them. I also use a monopod which is essentially a wizard staff, a stabilizer or gimbal which is smaller than a tennis racket and a drone if permitting, weather and restrictions allow. For audio, I use a lavalier microphone which clips into a boutineer or collar . That’s how I get the audio of the vows and it’s very subtle in photos.
Q: Do you have insurance?
Yes, I have comprehensive liability insurance.
Q: How do you work alongside Photographers?
I’m almost guaranteed to be dancing with your photographer by the end of the night. All jokes aside I’ve met incredible photographers in the area who I’m now proud to call friends. Should I be meeting your photographer for the first time, I will contact them and introduce myself prior. I'm also an experienced photographer and know exactly how to put myself not block photos, and work collaboratively with even multiple photographers at a time.
Q: Do you create any non-wedding films?
I do! Weddings and Elopements are my priority and passion, but I also work on commercial projects and for various businesses and brands. Feel free to contact me at email@example.com for more info!
